Premise
The UNDP Digital Comms Studio reached out looking for a designer to help them bring structure to something that had been missing since the awards launched in 2022 — a systematic, publicly accessible platform to showcase past winners and previous editions of their annual Digital Communications Awards, and give the impactful work of Country Offices worldwide the visibility it deserved.
Objective
Design a multilingual website for the UNDP Digital Communications Awards, providing a central, engaging platform to showcase award details, guidelines, and past winners.
Solution
Multilingual website design
We built the website on a modular structure — flexible enough to adapt to each language without breaking the layout or hierarchy. This scalable foundation ensures the platform feels consistent and trustworthy for its global audience, whether they're navigating in English, French, or Spanish.
Interactions & Accessibility
To make the winners' catalogue easy to explore, we built a set of thoughtful interactions — carousels, navigable image modals, category-based accordions, and quick filters — reducing the effort it takes to find and appreciate the work displayed. Every component was reviewed against accessibility standards, because a platform that honors global impact should be usable by everyone.
Responsive Design & Validation
We validated the full experience through responsive prototyping across devices, ensuring the design decisions made in the previous two points held up equally well on mobile and desktop.
